English

English at East Hills Girls Technology High School is where language comes alive through stories, conversations, performances, and ideas. We explore how words shape the way we see ourselves and the world, developing students who can think deeply, write powerfully, and speak with confidence. From classic literature to contemporary media and from essays to podcasts, our students read widely, write boldly, and learn to craft meaning across every form of communication. In English, students discover that language is the medium through which they’ll understand, question, and influence the world around them.

Stage 6 English at East Hills Girls Technology High School invites students to think big, write bravely and engage deeply with the power of language. Across a wide range of classic and contemporary texts, students explore how stories shape culture, identity, and the human experience. They refine their voices as both critical and creative thinkers by analysing complex ideas, crafting original responses and experimenting with new forms of expression. Whether unpacking a poem, creating a speech or composing a film review, students learn to write with insight, imagination, and control. Stage 6 English challenges them to think independently, collaborate thoughtfully, and use language not just to respond to the world but to help shape it.
