Science
At East Hills Girls Technology High School, the Science faculty provides students with exciting opportunities to discover and understand the natural world. From living organisms to chemical reactions, physical forces to earth systems, and new technologies, students explore many areas of science. Science helps students develop important skills such as asking questions, planning and carrying out investigations, analysing data, and solving problems. These skills prepare students for success in further study, work, and everyday life.
Stages 4 and 5 (Years 7–10)
In Years 7 to 10, students study a wide range of scientific topics through practical activities and experiments. They develop a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, physics, earth and space sciences, and technology. Students learn how to design investigations, collect and interpret data, and apply their knowledge to real-world situations. This builds their confidence in scientific thinking and problem-solving.
Stage 6 (Years 11–12)
In Years 11 and 12, students extend their science learning in more challenging and specialised courses. These subjects prepare students for university study and careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Students develop skills in research, critical thinking, independent study and creativity, applying scientific knowledge to everyday problems and innovations.
