NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.
During enrolment, you can choose a special religious education option for your child from the school’s available approved providers. You can withdraw your child from special religious education by selecting alternative meaningful activities, or special education in ethics if it’s available.
You can update your preference by writing to the school or through the online form available at participating schools.

At East Hills Girls Technology High School, SRE is delivered in the following pattern:
- Christian SRE is provided by the Anglican Diocese of Sydney and Baptist Union of NSW. For more information about Christian SRE, please visit the authorised curriculum scope and sequence.
- Islamic SRE is provided by a combined arrangement between Australian Islamic Education Services (AIES) and Islamic Council NSW (ICNSW). For more information about Islamic SRE, including the authorised curriculum scope and sequence, please visit the AIES website.
During the time that SRE classes are held, students not attending will be involved in one of the following activities:
Timetabled classes will be completing homework or private study.
