Wellbeing and Support

Our school is strongly committed to the belief that student potential can only be achieved when there is a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment.

Our students are supported by a highly active Wellbeing Team that focuses on both learning support and student wellbeing support. As such, there is a coordinated approach to accommodating students’ support and learning. Our school has a strong commitment to supporting student wellbeing, with policies that enhance positive relationships and harmony in the school environment.

The Inspiring Student Success Program (ISS), established in 2016, is designed to increase the engagement of selected students in Years 7-12. The program focuses on improving the targeted students’ academic progress through embracing their wellbeing, including health, engagement, motivation, and personal management strategies.

The Learning Engagement Centre (LEC) provides student support through a variety of programs that aim to build resilience, improve students’ social skills and re-engaging students who need support regulating behaviour. The LEC offers programs which

include literacy and numeracy support, Art and Music Therapy, and The Check-In, Check-Out Program.

East Hills Girls Technology High School actively fulfils the New South Wales Department of Education’s Aboriginal Education Policy by supporting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students to connect with their culture and build leadership capacity. The school’s Aboriginal Education Team promotes the significance of our first nations peoples’ cultures and traditions in our curriculum, extra-curricular and environmental projects.
