When: Wednesdays, 12.35-2.35pm (during sport)
Our Green club works on projects to enhance the school's environment. This includes
- garden maintenance (soil improvement, correcting irrigation problems, growing plants from seed in the school's greenhouse)
- exploring garden art through student projects
- 'Forage and feast' class, where students learn to prepare and share a plant-based meal made from our garden produce
- Planning for a sensory reflection space
Our achievements
- Creating a fruit grove
- Cultivating vegetables in a large market garden
- Growing herbs outside the TAS block
- Establishing a bromeliad and floral garden outside the library. It provides a sanctuary for the blue-banded native bee.
Support from the community
Canterbury-Bankstown Council has kindly donated:
- Dozens of bags of compost
- Native trees
- A hive of native stingless bees, which are vital for pollinating our market garden
We are thankful for the guidance from community members and the local volunteer group, Panania Free Rangers.
